![]() My impression of the lonely boy and the other children
My impression of the boy is that he may have come from a broken family or had a traumatic experience and has social-phobia, and ostracising himself on purpose. I think that if this is the case he may be protecting himself emotionally by creating a barrier around himself and not letting anything that could harm him in. He might be afraid that if he makes friends they might see his weak spots and hate him or worse, "attack" him. However, he still has the urge to play with everyone. I know that because he keeps coming to the playground and looks at the other children enviously but does not dare to play with them and stays at the wall so as to not walk out of 'comfort zone' which is the wall. I also feel that he is very determined boy, to live by his morals, he is determined not to move from his spot. He does everything possible to cure his boredom like draw patterns with his feet and hitting the bricks untill he felt numb and does not leave his spot. --- My impression of the children is that they are not very compassionate people. Normally, if children saw another child unhappy or alone, they would go up and help them or ask them what was wrong, however, these group of children did not. Instead, they gossiped about him and when passed him, they also go in cliques making the boy feel even worse about his situation. And in the poem, the phrase: For those who do not belongis used, this shows that the children do not care for the boy at all or may even discriminate him behind his back.I find the children very un-kind and mean. |
